Reviews

Overall:      ⭐⭐

Story/Plot : ⭐⭐⭐

Romance:  ⭐⭐

Spice:         ⭐

I honestly expected more from Ana for having such strong characters. The story basically is a second chance love story of a billionaire married couple. Through the first half of the book, Alessandra realizes how long she has suffered in an unhappy marriage and takes a step to create an identity for herself apart from Mrs. Davenport. She decides to divorce Dominic and stands on her feet by starting a business of her own.

I personally feel like Alessandra should have realized her worth way before and should have left Dominic for the way he treated. She knew after some years into marriage that Dominic has changed and should have addressed the issue in start than piling up the rage and distress for years and suffering alone. She acted as if his actions didn’t hurt her and she was not vocal about her problems. Then she leaves suddenly taking drastic decision of divorce.

The second part of the book deals with second chance and rekindling of their relationship. I was not able to come to terms on how easily Alessandra gave Dominic a chance especially after the way he prioritized money over her. Dominic always loved her but eventually he forgot to show her that, so many fake promises and neglecting her needs is what drove her to take the decision finally. But I felt the forgiveness part came easily to Dominic. I am not on the trope where male lead realize his woman worth after losing her. I believe that man should know her worth so he will never loose his woman. Dominic is a strong character but the way he acted after divorce- sabotaging her dates, begging her, following her to Brazil and then finally giving up work, didn’t exactly match the main lead vibes.

Overall I enjoyed the read as any book of Ana is go to for me. The story could have used better plot to show the emotions of main leads. Some of my favorite lines: I don’t have much lines except the one Dominic said to Alessandra in college days. But this line also brings up on how he couldn’t keep that promise.

I don’t have the money to buy you all the flowers you deserve yet, so I made them instead. Happy birthday, amor. One day, Ill buy you a thousand real roses. I promise.
