She’s his opposite in every way…and the greatest temptation he’s ever known.

Reserved, controlled, and proper to a fault, Kai Young has neither the time nor inclination for chaos—and Isabella, with her purple hair and inappropriate jokes, is chaos personified.

With a crucial CEO vote looming and a media empire at stake, the billionaire heir can’t afford the distraction she brings.

Isabella is everything he shouldn’t want, but with every look and every touch, he’s tempted to break all his rules…and claim her as his own.

***

Bold, impulsive, and full of life, Isabella Valencia has never met a party she doesn’t like or a man she couldn’t charm…except for Kai Young.

It shouldn’t matter. He’s not her type—the man translates classics into Latin for fun, and his membership at the exclusive club where she bartends means he’s strictly off limits.

But she can’t deny that, beneath his cool exterior, is a man who could make her melt with just a touch.

No matter how hard they try, they can’t resist giving into their forbidden desires.

Even if it costs them everything.

Review

Overall:      ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Story/Plot : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Romance:   ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Spice:         ⭐⭐⭐

The book was addicting right from the start and I loved reading every chapter of it. The grumpy, socialite behavior of Kai and care-free attitude of Isa was in perfect symphony right from the beginning. The conversations and banter covering the ongoing sexual tension among main leads along with the forbidden nature of their relationship kept readers on the hook.  I did very much enjoy the strawberry tonic and you know glow-in-the-dark talks very much. Still, there was something about her that drew him in like a siren calling to a sailor. Destructive, certainly, but so beautiful it would almost be worth it. The story line was good and portrayed Asian culture on point. The romance blossomed and Kai is semblance of perfect main lead- and loves books and even translates them into Latin for relaxation and becomes a territorial caveman when he’s jealous. But apart from it he’s very thoughtful and caring and have a soft spot only for Isa. The way he describes her and supports and motivates her through the hardships while she is making career out of books is a complete green forest man for me!

she shone too brightly for the dark, traditional confines of Valhalla

You should’ve never let me take you, Isabella. Because now that I have, I won’t be able to let you go.

Although I didn’t like the way Isa broke Kai’s heart, all ended well in the relationship. The story is light and an entertaining one too. I liked the cross over of characters from her other series and it is cherry on the top. It was beautiful how the MCs fell in love with each other bit by bit and my rom-comy heart was not able to take the cuteness of the couple!

We’ve been through some dark times, but you were always the brightest part of my life. Even when we broke up. Even when I walked out. Just knowing you existed somewhere in this world was enough.

She was the yin to my yang, the day to my night. We were two halves of a whole, and with her, I was finally complete.
